Situated just 70 miles off the coast of Africa, Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, making it the fourth largest island in the Canaries.

Volcanic in origin, Lanzarote is an official biosphere reserve and the local authority and Spanish government are committed to preserving its unique nature including white sandy beaches, indigenous vegetation and spectacular volcanoes.

The resort of Costa Teguise is the largest resort on the island, it is one of the most popular and attractive destinations for people from all walks of life, this resort has been delicately developed and managed over the past twenty years to ensure minimum damage to the islands natural magnificence. Costa Teguise offers first class accommodation, high-quality services, many water attractions and an 18-hole golf course (‘Costa Teguise Golf’), built and managed by Viviendas Jardin. The resort is tranquil and peaceful; it offers a comprehensive setting for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world while keeping them in close reach of all amenities associated with a modern life.

The island’s historic capital of Teguise is a 15 minute drive away and provides a slower pace, unless visiting on Sunday for the thriving market. Lanzarote’s capital, Arrecife, is also very close, at just a 10 minute drive away. Costa Teguise is well connected by public transport, with buses and taxis readily available and of course, many companies providing hire cars.

The climate can not go unmentioned when talking about this island; enjoying almost 12 months of warm-hot summers. As you can see from the table, anyone lucky enough to live on the island can enjoy lots of warm days and sunny winters, furthermore, Costa Teguise’s position on the island adds a lovely breeze to its weather, a welcome relief in the height of summer – and the reason it is popular with windsurfers. Tourists from all over Europe choose Costa Teguise.

Incidentally, local authority regulations on the amount and style of development on the island mean that there is no billboard advertising and no high rise buildings in Lanzarote (with the only exception of the Grand Hotel in Arrecife).

Three years ago, Viviendas Jardin acquired 90% of the building rights for Lanzarote, ‘Teguise Greens’ is an ambitious project planned by the company over the next ten years. Located in a beautiful spot at the foot of an ancient volcano and with incredible views over the Atlantic Ocean, Teguise Greens is a large residential development surrounded by 3,500 imperial palm trees the development will also look after its residents in the form of tertiary services and sport activities, and the management of the unique golf course. The project is located only 5 minutes from the beach, has excellent transport links and is close to the wealth of services that Costa Teguise offers.
Teguise Greens is an excellent product with which one can optimize investment due to its outstanding location and quality of detail. The project has sport areas, hotels, open green zones, two shopping centres, leisure areas, a large centre square for social and cultural activities and there are plans for an indoor ski resort similar to the one built in Dubai.

Situated at the ‘Tahiche’ volcano’s skirt, Costa Teguise Golf is an exceptional 18-hole golf course designed by US amateur champion and landscape architect John Harris. The course runs along the side of an old volcano, set within an inspirational landscape of volcanic lava, cacti and palm trees which makes its environment a unique golfing experience. This course is idyllic, not only due to its design and location but also thanks to the fantastic condition it is kept in all year round.
The course is designed to be both smooth and varied. Its numerous doglegs stimulate players and require them to bring all their clubs into play. It represents a challenge for professional players, whilst offering an attractive and enjoyable game for those with more modest skills. The fairways are surrounded by over 3,000 imperial palm trees and there are breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
In addition, Costa Teguise Golf houses a terraced restaurant, practice course, driving range, approach and putting green, golf school and pro-shop. Buggies, caddy carts and golf clubs are available to rent.

Some of Costa Teguise's appeal stems from the wide range of sports available, from the marine activities that can be enjoyed from its incredible beaches - diving, windsurfing, sailing and deep sea fishing - to golf, squash, tennis, paddle ball, and the thrill of the multitude of aquatic rides at the water park.
Costa Teguise’s beaches, all popular with families are: Playa Bastian - a part black sand, part volcanic stone beach with shops, bars and restaurants that has safe waters perfect for children and snorkelling, Las Charcos – a quiet white sandy bay with clear blue waters and parasols, and Las Cucharas - a great, wide beach, with facilities for windsurfing, bars, shops, restaurants and an inviting sea. Costa Teguise is the ideal place to rest, relax and simply enjoy life!

The island’s attractions include:

- Mirador del Río: from this glass dome you can observe the best views over the Atlantic and the Chinijo Archipelago.

- Cueva de los Verdes: spectacular caves created by volcano lava flow. Inside an auditorium has been installed and it was the second venue for the Visual Music Festival of Lanzarote.

- Jameos del Agua: One of most popular tourist centres on the island, formed by the lava flow after a volcano eruption, it now houses a bar-restaurant, tropical garden, a small lake (home to the tiny blind albino crabs that are unique to Lanzarote), turquoise – coloured pool with 600 seats and it also services prestigious events and concerts.

- Jardín de Cactus: this unique cactus garden has more than 10,000 cacti, the entrance to which is marked by an 8 metre sculpture of a cactus; it is the last work of the late artist, Cesar Manrique, one of the island’s true treasures.

- Cesar Manrique’s Foundation: located in ‘El Taro de Tahiche’ where the artist lived, one can see ‘live’ art such as bubbling lava and beautiful pools alongside art galleries containing work from the artist himself as well as others (Picasso, Miro, Chillida)

- Timanfaya National Park: A wonderful day out where one can observe breath-taking volcanoes and large lava fields, visit the park on a bus-ride, on camel-back or on foot, then witness the demonstration of the artificial geysers and try some Canarian food cooked in front of you on a natural oven.
