Full Description: A piece of history in Abruzzo In the heart of the Maiella Natural Reserve, in the centre of a town, in a strategic position not too far from the ski resorts and the sandy Adriatic coast this building overlooks a green valley. Belonged to an important noble family still shows the ancient glorious past. Entering this palace is an emotion, is like being launched into the 19th century. The atmosphere is warm and we almost can feel and see what happened in the “daily life” of noble people. It counts 4 different floors each one is more than 350 sqm. The main door already witnesses the importance of the building. Through a short corridor we reach a space where we find a big flat (200 sqm) used, till 15 years ago, as surgery ambulatory, the entrance of the Chapel where the mass was celebrated, the entrance of the cellar wine where huge barrels with a diameter of 2 m still contain wine and a little storehouse (35 sqm) used to store all tools to the horses maintenance. Upstairs on the 1st floor we have a very huge flat. Large hall (more or less 80 sqm) with smart painted ceilings, silk wall-papers, ancient curtains and marble floor. Later there is another living area particularly suitable for the tea time, for having meetings or just for having fun with friends. Few steps ahead and we have three bedrooms partially with original furniture, a kitchen, 2 bathrooms. It’s no use saying that all rooms have wall-papers, fantastic curtains and stunning paintings on the ceilings (look pictures). The 2nd floor is the copy but, even if it is always beautiful, is only nice compared to that one downstairs. The 3rd floor hosts the flat that was used by the servants. It is linked to the others floor by a secret narrow passage because the servant couldn’t be seen walking in the same space of nobles especially when (rarely) they had some hours off. There is a very big terrace where you could have a hot cup of tea in a mild day of spring. Time goes but in this case it has left behind only light signs. A restoration is anyway needed both outside and inside. Being a building with a historical interest is possible to have funds by the Ministero dei Beni Culturali with a convenient interest. I could write pages an pages but they will never be able to transfer you this “Abruzzo’s piece of history” that only by touching its silk wall-papers, admiring its paintings and opening its heavy main door you can really keep into you.
